WHEN WE DO CPR ?
If you see any person keel over or come across someone lying lifeless and have no sign of life, these are pretty good signs something isnt right. However, there are a number of medical issues that could be at play, and CPR may or may not be the appropriate response. some factors are discussed below in which a person needs to perform CardioPulmonary resuscitation.
when an individual shows no sign of life/No Pulse
Breathing and pulse are the two major factors to identify if an individual needs CPR or not. If a person isn’t breathing or doesn’t a Pulse consider them in dire straits. Make every second count. Call any Health emergency service and begin chest compressions and/or rescue breathing depending on the emergency.
Unconscious
If you find a person in the unconscious , Try to wake the person. If unsuccessful, check for breathing and pulse.
Not breathing/ not breathing normally
If you witness a person with No breathing or limited breathing, you may call for CPR.
Electrocution Injuries
If you find a person with an electrical injury. Do not try to touch the victim. Try to kill/stop the power source or remove the victim from the electrical contact, but be sure to use something that doesn’t conduct electricity, like a wooden broom or stick. CPR Procedure
1. Start as soon as possible.
2. lie patient on a flat surface.
3. Do not put yourself in danger, ensure safe surroundings.
4. Gently shake patient and shout at them to check the response.
5. Call for medical help/ ambulance.
6. Gently tilt the patient’s head and open his/ her mouth, look inside for any fluid, injury, or any foreign matter. Check for normal breathing
7. Look-listen and feel for a sign of breathing, if normal breathing is present then tilt the patient onto another side if not go for the next step
8. START CPR Hand position-Place left-hand heel on the center of the chest and right hand on top of your left hand and interlock your fingers.
9. COMPRESSION-Start compression on chest ,Depth of compression- 5cm/ 2inches.
Ratio- 30:2 means 30 chest compression and 2 artificial mouth to mouth respiration. The above process should be completed in 15 sec.
RATE- 100-120 chest compression per min
10 ARTIFICIAL RESPIRATION- Artificial respiration is given mouth to mouth after 30 chest compression immediately, close patient nostril with the help of finger and thumb, put your mouth over the patient mouth and blow full air into their mouth ensure there should be no leakage of air from any opening of face, give 2 full breaths, check as the chest is rising and falling when you blow air, Continue chest compression

When To STOP CPR
1. If the person revived and start breathing.
2.If a person performing the CPR get physically exhausted.
3. If medical help arrived.
4.Stop administering CPR when trained responders arrive or the environment becomes unsafe.
