Sensex is an index. It is a market indicator of the position of stock that is listed in the BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange). Generally, sensex is calculated on the basic of 30 well established and financially sound companies in BSE.
It gives a general idea about the position of stock to investors. This idea is helpful to identify whether the most of stock have gone up or gone down. Sensex is calculated by using “free float” market capitalization method which is worldwide famous method for calculating index value of stock.

How to calculate BSE- Sensex:
sexsex full form is Stock Exchange Sensitive Index, now it is important to know about how it is calculated. Sensex is calculated by using the “free float market capitalization method”. As per this method, the index shows the value of thirty most well established and financial sound companies in BSE.
The market capitalization of a company is determined by multiplying the price to its stock by number of shared issued and then multiply by the free float factor to determine market value of that particular stock.
