AMIE’s full form is Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers. AMIE stands for Associate Member of the Institute of Engineers. It is a Professional Certification given by the Institute of Engineers India Limited IEIL.
This is an important degree for students who are unable to obtain a Regular Engineering Degree from a technical university or engineering college in India.
AMIE is considered to be equivalent to an engineering degree as it includes major engineering streams such as electronics, mechanical, and computer science.
Once a student completes this certification, he/she can opt for a Masters’s degree from any recognized university and make up his career.
After obtaining this certificate, students can also work in various government or private sector companies in their field of expertise and earn a good amount of money.
This certificate consists of two types of subscriptions such as-
- Technician Member – This requires minimum Criteria to pass 45% as well as at least 12th Standard.
- Senior Technician Member – Two essential qualifications are held to become a Senior Technician Member.
In the course of obtaining these certificates, the candidate should be at least 18 years of age and the candidate should have a diploma or degree in technology or engineering valid by the Council.
AMIE Exams
The AMIE exam is conducted twice every year in summer and winter or June and December. The date and details of the exam are released in Technical Journal. IEIL has divided the exam into two sections Section A and Section B.
Section A is mandatory for all candidates. In Section B, the candidate must select a Specific Branch of the engineering program. After passing Section A, the candidate can appear for Section B.
And if he clears at least 5 Papers of Section B, he becomes eligible for Laboratory Experiments. The project’s work consists of 10 papers consisting of six essentials and three optional.
AMIE Usage
This certificate is considered to be equal to the engineering degree including major sections of engineering such as engineering, mechanical, and computer science. Even certified student leads capable of these exams.
